PCI Bus to PC CardBus Read-Writer 1 Slot Internal Rear Low Profile P311
Synchrotech provides Elan's P311 PCI Bus to PC cardbus Read-Writer Low Profile for OEMs and system integrators. This revolutionary card provides most Low Profile PCs with all the functionality of laptop based PC Card slots. Created for low profile PC designs, the read-writer's printed circuit board (PCB) conforms to the MD1 profile specification. However, due to the relatively large size of the PC Card socket the device may not be mechanically compatible with every motherboard design. Typically at least one PCI connector provides suitable free space around it to accommodate the card.
The unit's patented hardware and software driver design supports IRQs without needing an ISA slot. When used with operating systems providing full Card and Socket Services support, the read-writer interfaces with both 32 bit CardBus and 16 bit legacy PC Cards in either 3.3V or 5V modes. The single slot design accommodates up to a Type II card, including extended types with antennae. Suitable for wireless LAN cards, high performance CardBus cards, memory cards including ATA Flash, CompactFlash and Microdrives (with PC Card adapters), SRAM, and more. The device drivers work with nearly every Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems running on the 586 or later platform.
