Synchrotech's Elan P313 PCI to PC Card adapter supports one card socket compliant with the 16 bit PC Card standard. Created for low profile PC designs only, the read-writer's printed circuit board (PCB) conforms to the MD1 profile specification. The reader provides a rich feature set, making it ideal for bridging between PCI and PC Card in desktop computers. Unit complies with the 16 bit PC Card specifications and supports any 8 bit or 16 bit PC Cards in the socket, powered at 3.3V, 5.0V or 12.0V as required. The single slot design accommodates up to s Type III card. The reader does not support 32 bit CardBus Cards.
The internal model's card slot is contained in a standard 3.5" drive bay, providing the reader with easy front access for card insertions. The host system interface for the readers is compliant with the PCI Local Bus Specification 2.2 or greater. Unique software configured interrupt routing circuits, and necessary drive software is provided together for the reader to service IO cards requiring IRQ functionality from the socket. This enables the reader to support most 16 bit PC Card applications including: Wireless LAN Card (802.11b, Bluetooth, etc.), SRAM cards, Linear Flash cards, ATA cards, Modem cards and LAN cards as long as they are supported by the host operating system.
