PCI Bus to PCMCIA PC Card and CardBus Drive Read-Writer 2 Slot Internal Front TI PCI1520
PC2IF32 takes a breakthrough design for PC Card adapters and improve upon it by adding a second slot. With two front loading 32-bit slots, the PC2IF32 is especially attractive to videographers utilizing Panasonic P2 card workflows. In the past, short trace length requirements between card slots and controllers had always forced backplane placement for 32-bit PCMCIA PC CardBus readers. The PC2IF32 takes a different approach. Instead of locating the controller on the PCI card's PCB, it places it in the 3.5" drive bay enclosure. For the first time, a front loading reader can accept 32-bit PCMCIA PC CardBus cards!
Utilizing the highly compatible Texas Instruments PCI1520 chipset, the reader requires no special drivers--it uses an operating system's built in support. It also avoids the confusing and frustrating process of manually trying to force low order unshared IRQs often encountered with many card readers in its class. Simply plug into an empty PCI slot, boot, and retail versions of The Windows will automatically install the correct drivers for the device. Suitable for GSM, CDMA, wireless LAN cards including 802.11b and Bluetooth, high performance CardBus cards, the device also handles ATA Flash, CompactFlash (with PC Card adapters), and much more. In fact, the reader supports nearly any 5V/3.3V 16 or 32 bit PC Card application so long as it is supported by the host operating system.
