This PCI to USB 2.0 and FireWire 400 Combo Host Adapter is an inexpensive single card solution for adding or supplementing USB and FireWire. The PCI card provides full 480Mbps throughput for versatile USB 2.0 peripherals and 400Mbps throughput for high performance FireWire 400 peripherals. The adapter provides three external USB 2.0 ports and two external FireWire 400 (IEEE 1394 A) ports. The PCI card is fully backward compatible with existing USB 1.1 devices, and connects with USB based printers, modems, speakers, scanners, and hundreds of other devices. Connect up to 127 USB products. The FireWire portion of the card interfaces FireWire peripherals including Digital Video Camcorders, digital still image cameras, set top boxes, hard drives, DVD/CDRWs and other mass storage devices. Use with multiple peripherals or with a hub for daisy chaining and/or hierarchical (tree) bus configurations. Ready for use with self-powered devices, or plug an available system power cable into the onboard molex connecter for devices requiring bus power. Utilizing the widely supported VIA VT6306 and VT6214L, this host adapter works with a wide range of hardware and operating systems.
